Compensation: $18–$25/hr (based on experience & certifications)

Role Overview

The Junior Field Technician supports on-site IT, telecom, and low-voltage service calls under the guidance of senior technicians and project managers. This role is ideal for someone early in their IT or telecom career who wants hands-on experience, exposure to enterprise environments, and a clear advancement path.

You will be dispatched to client sites for installs, troubleshooting, and support tasks, while learning IMC standards, documentation, and escalation procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform on-site IT and telecom support (desktops, printers, network devices)

  • Assist with VoIP phone installs (Teams Phone, SIP handsets, ATA devices)

  • Support low-voltage work (rack & stack, patching, cable labeling, testing)

  • Install and replace network hardware (switches, routers, access points)

  • Perform basic troubleshooting (connectivity, power, cabling, endpoints)

  • Capture photos, notes, and close-out documentation for each job

  • Follow IMC safety, cabling, and client compliance standards

  • Escalate issues clearly to senior technicians or NOC when required

Required Qualifications

  • 0–2 years experience in IT support, telecom, or field services

  • Basic understanding of:

    • Ethernet & structured cabling

    • Routers, switches, and Wi-Fi

    • Windows laptops/desktops

  • Ability to travel to job sites reliably

  • Strong communication and professionalism with clients

  • Smartphone capable of running dispatch and ticketing apps

Preferred (Not Required)

  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or equivalent coursework

  • Low-voltage or cabling experience

  • VoIP or Teams Phone exposure

  • Field Nation / WorkMarket / Fieldglass experience

  • Own basic tools (screwdrivers, punchdown, cable tester)
