Role Overview
The Junior Field Technician supports on-site IT, telecom, and low-voltage service calls under the guidance of senior technicians and project managers. This role is ideal for someone early in their IT or telecom career who wants hands-on experience, exposure to enterprise environments, and a clear advancement path.
You will be dispatched to client sites for installs, troubleshooting, and support tasks, while learning IMC standards, documentation, and escalation procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Perform on-site IT and telecom support (desktops, printers, network devices)
Assist with VoIP phone installs (Teams Phone, SIP handsets, ATA devices)
Support low-voltage work (rack & stack, patching, cable labeling, testing)
Install and replace network hardware (switches, routers, access points)
Perform basic troubleshooting (connectivity, power, cabling, endpoints)
Capture photos, notes, and close-out documentation for each job
Follow IMC safety, cabling, and client compliance standards
Escalate issues clearly to senior technicians or NOC when required
Required Qualifications
0–2 years experience in IT support, telecom, or field services
Basic understanding of:
Ethernet & structured cabling
Routers, switches, and Wi-Fi
Windows laptops/desktops
Ability to travel to job sites reliably
Strong communication and professionalism with clients
Smartphone capable of running dispatch and ticketing apps
Preferred (Not Required)
CompTIA A+, Network+, or equivalent coursework
Low-voltage or cabling experience
VoIP or Teams Phone exposure
Field Nation / WorkMarket / Fieldglass experience
Own basic tools (screwdrivers, punchdown, cable tester)
